I finally made the last changes to Arthropod and will now release the 1.0 version.

Some of the suggestions that you users mailed me about is in there, but there is still a few more steps to go. Arthropod have made the map. Currently, over 60 countries from all continents are using Arthropod. Thank you!

Here’s a small change log that I think you should read:

- Debug.bitmap() now allows any DisplayObject
- Debug.log/warning/error now allows any type
- Added Settings dialog
- Clear removes all traces (incl. bitmap and history)
- Password protection(see Debug.password and Settings -> Connection Password)
- Version control (every 14 days)
- Button bar, (the “Clear” button is back!)
- Save log (as HTML. incl. png representation of bitmaps)
- Help button (link to site)
- Ability to change font
- Bitmap now has labels
- Snapshot of current state
- Application and Debug-class is now in a bundle
- Array items are now aligned
- Core stability
- Fixed Flex SDK bugs regarding arguments.

After about a week of vacation, I’m finally back on track. It’s been an interesting month with lots of mails from the whole flash community that want to contribute to the Arthropod project.

Now that I’m back, I will try to finish version 1 of Arthropod a.s.a.p.

My goal is to have the next version up and running to Flash On The Beach 08 where I’m going later in September. For those of you who would like to meet up and maybe give me some hints, tips or just say hi are welcome to send me an email.

I will post a list of things that I will try to fit in the next version too.

I just fixed some minor bugs and requests.

change:

• Changed show last log as default to false
• Added Debug.clear();
• Added Debug.allowLog
• Minor bugs in core-flow made Arthropod crash if message exceeded 40kb.

As some of you might have noticed, the clear button is removed. I have replaced the button with the Backspace key. Just click on the main area of arthropod and press Backspace.

Always in front:

The always in front switch has been moved to the titlebar. The icon left of the minimize switches in front feature on and off.

Insecure switch:

In the new version, the insecure switch is removed. Arthropod is always set to “insecure” because of the default sandbox security that already is as safe it needs to.

Spam-filter:

I have removed the spam-filter functionality becasue it was more often annoying then useful.
